First Republic Banking Online security

What Is First Republic Bank Doing to Protect You?

First Republic Bank has established effective controls to protect the confidentiality, security and integrity of all customer information.

  • Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption scrambles data as it travels between your computer and the Bank, making it virtually impossible for anyone to access your account information. SSL protocol has become the universal standard for Web site authentication and for encrypting communications over the Web.
  • If you enter your password incorrectly five times, your User ID will be locked until you call us to reset your password.
  • The Banking Online Master Agreement limits your liability in the unlikely event that your password is stolen or funds are transferred improperly as a result. Please refer to the agreement for details.
  • For more information, go to www.firstrepublic.com and click on the Privacy & Security link.

What Can You Do?

  • Never share your User ID or Password with anyone. No one representing First Republic Bank will ever ask for your User ID or Password. Never give these out to people who ask for them by e-mail or by phone.
  • Make sure your password is hard to guess by combining random numbers and letters instead of using your birth date, pet’s name, or other obvious clues.
  • Sign off after each online banking session using the Exit link or any time you leave your computer unattended so others can’t gain access to your session.
  • To accommodate security requirements, use the most recent version of Netscape Navigator®, Microsoft® Internet Explorer or AOL® as your browser.
