What type of account information can I access through the Portfolio Access Link (PAL)?

PAL provides you with around the clock access to your account information. Now you can review even more detailed portfolio information than what is contained within account statements, including:

  • Account Summary of assets by major classes (ex. cash equivalents, fixed income securities, equities etc.)
  • Investment details (including ticker symbols, CUSIPS, P/E ratios and financial ratings
  • Tax lot listings (for taxable accounts)
  • Portfolio % and market value pie charts and bar graphs
  • Market Value charts
  • Previous day's or previous month's end asset-holding profile (including the number of shares, current unit cost, market value and a description of the assets held in your portfolio)
  • Up to a year of recent transactional activity (chronological or broken down by asset)

In addition, you can specify information preferences (such as turning on/off certain fields and selecting the transaction history period) as well as download data for financial reports or presentations.

What accounts are available for viewing through PAL?

PAL offers you web access to your custody, retirement plans and/or personal trust accounts.

How often is my account information refreshed?

The account data is updated every business day between midnight and 4:00 am.

Can I provide access to particular individuals within my company or household? Also can my lawyer, accountant or other advisors be provided access to my accounts?

Yes. PAL simply is an additional way to deliver account information. When you submit your user application, you can specify additional individuals whom you wish to have access to your account(s). We will send a separate access ID for each new party you wish to have access. Only authorized individuals can access the site or your accounts.

How secure will my account information be? Is a user name and password enough to keep out intruding third parties?

PAL features advanced Internet access security protocol to ensure privacy and account data protection. The log-on screen requires an assigned user name and personal password. (The user can change the password at any time on-line). We will send you written confirmation of your user name and initial password ID under a separate cover. Your user name will be activated within 2 working days following the distribution of the confirmation materials.

Can I 'bookmark' PAL for more convenient access?

No. But you can bookmark FRTC's home page for easier access.

What kind of computer software and hardware are required for PAL access?

You will need an IBM-compatible PC, Pentium or better with Internet access. The browser has to be either MS Internet Explorer version 4.0 or better; or Netscape version 4.0 or better.

Is there a charge for PAL access?

No. There is no charge for this service.

How do I sign up for PAL? How long does it take to sign-up?

Simply fill out a PAL user application. Your application will be processed within 2 business days upon receipt. You will then receive confirmation of your enrollment and qualified user names and temporary password. Your PAL access will be activated within 2 days following distribution of the confirmation materials.

In addition to viewing account information, is it possible to see current stock market pricing?

Yes, but not through PAL.

Are other account-related links available through PAL (e.g. manager's biographical information, email account etc.)?

Yes. The Trust Company's web site has a variety of useful links including on-line contact with your account officer.

Is there a user help desk to address technical questions related to PAL?

Yes. Sungard Trust Systems, the company maintaining PAL, has a 24-hour help-line available to all PAL users.
