National Black Theatre is the nation’s first revenue-generating Black arts complex, founded in 1968 by the late visionary artist Dr. Barbara Ann Teer. Operating at the intersection of art and entrepreneurship, the theater is a transformative resource for Black artists and their communities. At First Republic, the organization has found a committed partner with an in-depth understanding of nonprofits. Working closely with the Bank has helped National Black Theatre move toward their big-picture goals as they continue to showcase the genius of Black artists and shape the future of theater.
