First Republic Bank (NYSE: FRC), a leading private bank and wealth management company, reported that it has been added to the Russell Global, Russell 3000 and Russell 1000 stock market indices.
The bank was included in the three indices after Russell completed its annual reconstitution of the indices in June. First Republic completed an initial public offering on December 14, 2010.
“First Republic is very pleased to be included in the Russell stock market indices,” said Jim Herbert, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of First Republic Bank.
In addition to the Russell indices, First Republic is a component of the S&P Total Market Index, the Wilshire 5000 Total Market IndexSM and six Dow Jones indices.
Russell indexes are used by investment managers and institutional investors for index funds and as benchmarks for both passive and active investment strategies. An industry-leading US $3.9 trillion in institutional assets currently are benchmarked to them. The Russell Global Index, which captures 98% of investable securities globally, is reconstituted annually and all sub-indexes are recalibrated simultaneously to accurately measure current market realities for each market segment.
