In his role, Mr. Shalev manages and oversees the Altair Alternative Investment Platform, focusing exclusively on the firm’s private and alternative investment programs. He is responsible for identifying and sourcing alternative investment opportunities; portfolio construction; manager due diligence, monitoring and selection; legal and tax structuring of the firm's investment vehicles; oversight of the platform’s third party service providers and of the Altair investments and operations teams. In addition, Mr. Shalev serves as a board member of multiple private investment funds representing the firm’s investors.
Mr. Shalev joined First Republic Investment Management upon the acquisition of Luminous Capital, which he joined in 2008. Prior to joining Luminous Capital, Mr. Shalev worked as a corporate lawyer, concentrating on securities law and formation of private investment vehicles at Gornitzky & Co., a top-ten Israeli law firm.
Mr. Shalev received his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and his LL.B in Law from the Interdisciplinary Center in Herzlia (“IDC”) in 2006, and his LL.M in Business Law, magna cum laude, from the IDC in 2007. In 2012, he graduated with an Executive MBA from the Anderson School of Business at UCLA.
