Ms. Ip has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, and was named one the "Top 50 Women in Wealth" by WealthManagerWeb's1 online publication in 2010 and 2011. She joined First Republic in December 2012 when the independent advisory firm she co-founded, Luminous Capital, was acquired. At Luminous Capital, Ms. Ip was the Chief Investment Officer and advised select clients. Previously, Ms. Ip served as head of research and operations for an $8 billion team at Merrill Lynch’s Private Banking & Investment Group. She also spent 12 years in investment banking at major firms, including Merrill Lynch and Lehman Brothers, where she was responsible for raising approximately $5 billion in capital (both publicly-offered and privately-placed).
Ms. Ip received her Bachelor of Science in Economics from Rutgers University and earned an MBA in Finance from the New York University’s Stern School of Business. She also is a Certified Investment Management AnalystSM professional and studied at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
