Chip Cards

Chip cards are a major advancement in card security technology. These cards feature an embedded chip that improves security when you make purchases at a chip-activated terminal.

  • Your debit card number is never relayed to a merchant when using a chip-activated terminal, helping to prevent data theft and fraud
  • The chip is virtually impossible to replicate, making most fraudulent or duplicate cards invalid at chip terminals
  • Chip cards are widely accepted at international merchants and ATM terminals, making travel safer and more convenient

How it Works

Using your new chip card is easy! You simply insert the chip end of the card into the chip-activated terminal with the card facing up. Keep the card in the terminal throughout the transaction. The card reader will prompt you to remove your card at the appropriate time.
