Opening a Brokerage Account

Do you wish to open a brokerage account? Please e-mail SelfDirected@firstrepublic.com or call (877) 348-5576. Once we receive your request, an Investment Specialist will contact you to discuss account particulars. Please allow two business days to set up new accounts and 15 days to transfer assets from another broker.

What you will need to open an account:
  • Just a few minutes to complete the account application
  • Your Social Security Number
  • Driver's License or Passport

Important information about procedures for opening a new account: 
To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law (Section 326 of the USA PATRIOT Act) requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account.

What this means for you: When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see your driver's license or other identifying documents.
